CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 31, 2005) - The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team gets a special holiday present. Inside Lacrosse Magazine has released their preseason All-American Team for the 2006 season, and Pat Halsch and Mike Mezzanotte have been named to the 2006 All-American Honorable Mention team. Halsch, a defenseman was an honorable mention All-American last year for the Royals and also garnered All-Conference and All-Tournament accolades as well. Mezzanotte led the Royals last year in points as a freshman and was named to the All-Tournament team in 2005. The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team finished in 2nd place in the Deep South Conference and in the South Region. "I was glad to see those two players recognized, both are deserving and it speaks well of our program; that in our third season, we have two players named as preseason All-Americans," said Coach Fritz. The men's lacrosse team has also been placed in the Top 10 by US Lacrosse. Each year US Lacrosse puts together their national Top 10 for Division II lacrosse and Queens is 10th.
