Charlotte, N.C. Taylor Wray, the assistant men's lacrosse coach at Queens University of Charlotte, was recently invited to try out for Team Canada. Wray, who is in his third year at Queens, is a 2003 graduate of Duke. There he was team captain and played for two ACC championships. He was also the number one pick of the Calgary Roughnecks in the NLL and was named all-pro and rookie of the year in the NLL. He was also named the defensive player of the year while helping the Roughnecks take their first ever NLL Championship. Wray was one of 100 players invited to the tryout in Toronto. If selected, he will play for Canada in the 2006 World Lacrosse Games. "It is of course a great honor to be asked to represent your country. With this opportunity only coming around every 4 years, I feel even more honored to be asked," said Wray. |
