John Brubaker announced his resignation Friday afternoon as head lacrosse coach at St. Andrews Presbyterian College citing the desire to spend more time with his family. A national search will begin immediately to find his replacement. "St. Andrews is a great institution and I've had the privilege to coach some outstanding young men," said Brubaker. "I wish them the best of luck in the future. I have the chance to explore some business opportunities and spend more time with my family and I'm excited about that. I want to be able to spend more time with my daughter as she grows up; consequently I cannot give the program the same attention I have been giving it. His decision ends a playing and coaching tenure that spanned the past fourteen years. His career head coaching record stands at 54-54 (.500) over 8 years. During his career, Brubaker has coached three All-Americans and three Academic All-Americans. Additionally, Brubaker has been very involved in the lacrosse community serving on the board of the Intercollegiate Mens Lacrosse Coaches Association, the USILA All-American committee and the NCAA Championship Regional Advisory committee. Brubaker guided St. Andrew's lacrosse teams for the past three seasons and his squads compiled a 22-23 record. During his tenure the Knights have produced two second place finishes in conference, an NCAA Final Four appearance, 13 all-conference players, 12 academic all-conference players, 3 All-Americans and one Academic All-American. |
