PALM COAST, Fla. (October 25, 2018) - This past weekend marked the 16th annual Deep South Lacrosse Great Pumpkin Shootout held at the Indian Trails Sports Complex in Palm Coast, Florida. Along with the 51 teams in attendance, two Major League Lacrosse (MLL) players also came to the event.
Matt Rambo of the Charlotte Hounds and Niko Amato of the Chesapeake Bayhawks held a skills clinic for shooters and goalies. The day finished with a 1v1 Shooting Challenge between Rambo and Amato. Rambo, an attackman, was allotted 5 balls to shoot at Amato in goal. A point was given to Rambo for each goal, while Amato accumulated points with each save or any shot that missed the cage.
In the end, Amato did not allow any goals by Rambo, winning the 1v1 Shooting Challenge and the $5,000 cash prize. The MLL stars then watched as youth and high school players did the same challenge with the winners taking home full gear by Epoch and Cascade.
