The STX Hammer 500 lacrosse head is the latest defensive head out of STX. This is the predecessor to the original STX Hammer, a wildy popular head among defensemen for several key features. The STX Hammer 500 has keyed in on the original design with several improvements. The iconic three-sidewall brace has been redesigned to create more stiffness and durability through out the head. An added strikeplate has been designed into the top shoulders of the head as an increased contact zone for landing checks. The popular C-Channel technology from STX has been applied to assist the three-wall brace for distributing impacts and stress throughout the sidewall of the head. A new feature from STX is the introduction of Speed Scoop technology for reduced drag on groundballs for easy possessions.
