Lacrosse is quite possibly the fastest growing sport in the United States.Over the last ten years Lacrosse has grown more than any other sport at the high school level. Currently there are an estimated 228,000 high school lacrosse players.

What most people don't realize is that Lacrosse has been played for over a century. It was originally created by the American Indians as a way to practice for war. Read more about the origin of lacrosse on our HISTORY page.

Lacrosse offers the speed and power of football and hockey and the endurance, agility and strategy of soccer and basketball. Lacrosse is both exciting to play and thrilling to watch. This video demonstrates the rules, equipment and differences between men’s and women’s lacrosse.

Note: This video was produced in 2004 by US Lacrosse. Some rules and equipment have been updated since then. Also, since the production of this video, US Lacrosse membership has grown to 300,000 members in 63 chapters across the country.
